"Even if those connections hurt us."

"We need connections to other people."

"But that's not really living, is it?"

"I've learned not to get too attached to anyone."

"That's all we can do in this world."

"We endure. We adapt. We survive."

"Because that's what survivors do."

"But we keep going anyway."

"Every day is a battle against despair."

"I'm still fighting to do that."

"The key is not letting them consume you."

"We all have our demons in this world."

"But it's always there, in the back of my mind."

"I try not to think about it too much."

"That's something I'll have to live with forever."

"And I've been forced to do some of those things myself."

"I've seen people do terrible things in the name of survival."

"Even if we don't know what that future looks like."

"We have to protect the children. They deserve a future."

"I'm not sure I have any left to give them."

"People need hope to survive. They need something to believe in."

"But I keep trying anyway."
